Our Holidays are always busy but this year they seemed even more so. After Nick's birthday party we were thrown into full Christmas mode. Traditionally we start the Christmas celebrations at Serge's mom's family for Christmas Eve. This year we went to his dad's house and had our traditional polish (no meat, all fish), 2 hour 13 dish meal. I made rice and spaghetti for Nick and I, as neither of us will eat the fish. My father in law makes this jell-o (yes Jell-o) fish dish that only a select few will eat. I took a picture because it does not make a Christmas eve appearance often but when it does it is quite the topic of conversation. It was nice to only be 1.2 miles from home for Christmas Eve, Nick did not fall asleep in the car so he was able to put out cookies, and milk for Santa. And for some reason this year the reindeer wanted a granola bar with M&M's on it. All was a good night...... Santa brought a lot of stuff for Nick this year, and as he is just starting to fully understand Santa it was fun to see him rip open all the "red" presents from Santa. Santa brought Nick a new Globe for his room, a bunch of new tools (just like Daddy's), a few other toys and a Bears tackling dummy. Which took out the tree with in the first 5 minutes. After a nice Christmas breakfast we headed to Park Ridge for the remainder of the day. Nick asked for a Cars TV/DVD player for his room and was to excited to open it. Christmas dinner at Jamie and Joe's is always fun, Kelly, Jim and the boys, the martinek's, and Aunt Alice all came for the festivities. It was murphy's First Christmas and it proved to be a little much, she needed a little nap after dinner. Saturday was our 5 year anniversary, it was just the 3 of us, all day as a family. We did have plans to go downtown for the night but Serge pulled a muscle in his back and the weather was really bad here. So we just took advantage of one of the last weekends with just the 3 of us. It was great. The entire weekend was topped off by a visit from my dad, I do not know what it is with little boys are there grandfathers but Nick could not have been more excited to see him. Although grandpa takes Nick's puppy and puts it in his shirt, so Nick decided to walk around the house the entire visit with the puppy inside of his shirt so grandpa could not get it. Ha....Someone else out smarted by a 3 year old....
We are going to have a 3D ultrasound of Nathan this week so I will share the pictures once we get them. Pray for my nose and feet, trust me it will save the kid from a life time of problems:):):)
